Art show and Auction to benefit Family Refuge Center

Show of Strength 2006

Over seventy artists exhibited their work for the Family Refuge Center Benefit Auction SHOW OF STRENGTH. The auction was the brainchild of Heather Rose of Lewisburg. Instead of simply making a donation, Heather chose to organize the art auction. The show opened Friday, June 30th and ran for two weeks until the auction reception on Saturday, July 15th. Monica and Aaron Maxwell, owners of Harmony Ridge Gallery, once again generously donated much of their floor space to host this event. The Show of Strength expanded to include male artists this year. A silent auction ran during the two week viewing prior to July 15th. Martha Hilton again was the auctioneer. A wonderful wine and hors d'oeuvres reception with live music provided by Zemph Sapanski and other musicians.

All of the artists donated their works and all those helping to organize offered their services allowing all proceeds to go to FRC. The food and wine costs were covered by members of the GVMC Board of Trustees and Greenbrier Medical Society. Our community recognizes the essential role of the Family Refuge Center. The generosity for this event galvanizes our sense of community.

Thank You for joining us for this fabulous party, and helping support our sense of community, and, most importantly, RAISE MONEY for the Family Refuge Center. It was a successful event and we thank you, our community, for your support.
